Apparently, Huffington Sucks
05.10.05 (10:42 am) [edit]
Wow. It looks like I was a bit pre-emptive in my mild commendation for the Huffington Post. Everyone else (including the inimicable James Lileks) seems to be condemning it as a cheap, shallow attempt by Mrs. Huffington to manipulate the media and become ahbsolootly fahhhbulous.
Whatever. I think reading what famous people have to say can be, if not educational, then certainly amusing. Besides, I liked Cusack's piece.

I have a feeling people are getting snarky because Arianna's disabled all comments, thus making her blog some sort of elitist country-club shebang. I think that's one of the best things about blogs in the first place, if used responsibly. I'm not sure how much weight this comment holds, since I've not checked out the Huffington Post in its entirety. I'll get around to it, eventually. LOL.

Problem is, she started it just to spite Drudge, who she hates. That's not enough to go on if you're trying to compete with the king of blog compilations...

And that attitude has worked out so well in the past, right? Such as with the much-hyped and celebrity-endorsed AirAmerica, which so far, three people have listened to.

Oh boy..celebrities (sp) are fun to read about, but I base nothing on the opinion of overpaid entertainers.
