Army to announce 1-day break in recruiting

Well, I hate to say I told you so, but I did, back around April 29. USAREC is expected to announce a one-day break from recruiting, according to CNN.
"A senior Army officer said Wednesday that the 'stand-down' is being ordered not only because of possible misconduct but also because the service has had a difficult time attracting volunteers. The Army wants to assess the stress facing recruiters."
Hopefully, this "outing" by the national press will make the principals here at USAREC a little more forthcoming. They sort of have to say something now.

"The Army wants to assess the stress facing recruiters." - Pffft I feel really sorry for recruiters...
From what I understand, they have a long record of lying to recruits about where they will be stationed etc..
Maybe if they had a better track record for honesty..ppl might not be so afraid..(dunno..I'm no army buff)

This is not surprising. As the war drags on, the motivation to jump in and lend a hand will inevitably wane. Sign up for 4 years? You could spend all 4 years in Iraq, then be forced to serve a few more. No thanks.
